4 Reasons Fall Camping Is Superior Camping

Campgrounds in ohio

Whether you prefer cabin camping, tent camping, or just sleeping under the stars, fall is rolling, which means it’s the perfect to go out, and spend some time in nature. Here are just a few of the reasons why fall camping is so awesome.

Better Rates – Fall camping is cheaper than summer camping. That’s a fact. After Labor day, many campsites drop their rates, stop taking reservations, and start booking people on a first come first serve basis. In other words, it’s just plain cheaper to go fall camping. Plus, since the peak season is past, you’ll have little to no trouble getting a campsite.

Not as Many Bugs – There’s just not as many insects in fall as there is summer to bug you. The chilly air chases them away. Forest areas that are typically full of mosquitoes, and other annoying bugs are suddenly clear of pests. Nevertheless, it’s always a good idea to pack some bug spray anyways.

The Weather’s Easier. – Fall might be chillier than summer, but it’s also more comfortable. You can fight the cold, but you can’t beat the heat. You can always put on another layer, but there’s only so much you can take off. Fall weather is just far more easy to get comfortable in. Plus, research shows that people actually sleep better if things are a bit chillier.

Neater Things to Do. – There are some things that you can only really do in the fall. It’s the time of the year when you can go apple picking, enjoy beautiful foliage, pick pumpkins, check out festivals, and even participate in fishing debries, too.

Fall camping is some of the best camping out there. If you have any questions about finding campgrounds to go to this fall, feel free to share in the comments.
